Happy Boy

There's something about the honesty in the playfulness

of children that brings out the best in all of us.

Leveraging brain science, practical strategies, play therapy and a little humor, I'm able to build the trust needed to repair and grow healthy relationships for kids, teens and their parents.

I believe that  integrating play is a vital part of life for everyone, no matter the age.  Play can help create healthier relationships, relieve stress, and bring more joy to life. It's been a huge part of my life since I was a little one, and I try to include a little play into each day myself.  Some of my favorite ways to play include bike riding, board games, trivia, yoga, and any activity at the beach (paddle-boarding is my current favorite).

In our work together, we will laugh, problem-solve, learn, and probably cry a little too; all to help kids, teens and their parents find their center, and become happier, calmer and more confident.

PARENT COACHING

From preschool to high school

It’s a journey. When parents do the work there is quicker, more effective, real and lasting change. When we combine your expertise as the parent and my expertise in relationship-building and communication, that's where the magic happens: peace, joy and confidence. By meeting parents where they are, I’m able give them the tangible tools they need to connect and deepen their relationships with their kids and find a happier, healthier way of communicating.

PLAY THERAPY

Children 3 and up, teens, parents

Play Therapy is a research-based, developmentally appropriate way for children to work through feelings and problems they are experiencing.  Because children may not have the verbal language to express themselves and process their experiences, play therapy provides an opportunity for them to communicate without words.

Research has shown us that children communicate, grow, learn, and heal through play.  Play therapy creates a safe place for kids to process through stressful situations and learn new strategies for coping.

For children, a safe place is created through play therapy. For adolescents and parents, traditional talk therapy is combined with creative interventions. â€‹ Whether counseling is focused on one person or the family as a whole, I make sure to provide the support you need.

TEEN COUNSELING

Being a teenager is an exciting and turbulent time of change and growth.  The transition from being a child to being a young adult is tough on a lot of levels.  I help parents understand developmental expectations and how to support independence. Parents gain critical communication and problem-solving skills that help to deepen their relationsihps with their teens. Establishing daily systems and expectations help to reduce unpleasant nagging and arguing and increase affinity and trust. Teens learn how to communicate more effectively, manage their ever-changing emotions, and better understand themselves to successfully navigate their transition into adulthood.
